When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string (hash) from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service. After approval, your profile picture becomes visible publicly alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images.

Cookies

• Save your name, email, and website for convenience (lasts 1 year).
• Temporary cookies on login page to check browser compatibility.
• Login cookies last 2 days; “Remember Me” extends to 2 weeks.
• Screen preference cookies last 1 year.
• Editing/publishing articles creates a cookie that expires in 1 day.

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). These behave exactly as if you visited the source website, which may collect data, use cookies, and track interactions.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely for follow-up recognition and approval.

Registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal data anytime (except usernames). Admins can also access and edit data.

You can request an exported file of your personal data or request deletion of your data. This excludes data retained for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
